About the Position Bloomsburie is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support a Department of Defense customer in Newport, RI. This position provides administrative, clerical, and front desk support in a professional office environment. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-service oriented, comfortable working with multiple priorities, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion. Responsibilities Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate office or personnel Answer telephones, take messages, and maintain visitor logs Prepare, proofread, edit, and format correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents File, organize, scan, copy, and distribute documents Maintain office supply inventories and notify Government personnel when supplies need replenishment Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail Prepare outgoing mail and packages Schedule meetings and reserve conference rooms using Microsoft Outlook Maintain calendars, leave schedules, and travel information Enter and verify data in Government systems, including travel and security databases Assist with timekeeping and administrative recordkeeping Handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with Government policies Perform other administrative duties as assigned Required Qualifications Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of administrative or office support experience Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Ability to work independently and as part of a team Professional customer service skills Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting a federal government or Department of Defense office Familiarity with Defense Travel System (DTS) Experience with DISS or other Government administrative systems Experience handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Experience supporting senior leadership Security Requirements Must have and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. Work Schedule Full-time (40 hours per week) Monday through Friday Work performed between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM (standard daytime schedule) Federal holidays observed Benefits Service Contract Act (SCA)
Position:
This position is covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA). In addition to the hourly wage, employees receive a separate Health & Welfare (H&W) fringe benefit of $5.09 per hour . This benefit is not included in the employee's hourly wage or regular paycheck and is used to fund eligible employee benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), and other company-sponsored benefits in accordance with SCA requirements. Employees working 32 or more hours per week are eligible to enroll in the company's health insurance plan after 90 days of employment .
