Provide friendly, professional customer service and maintain positive interactions with the public, staff, and customers. Perform receptionist duties, including answering phones, greeting visitors, answering questions, and providing requested information and materials. Sell hunting and fishing licenses and shooting complex memberships and assist customers with related questions. Communicate information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records. Type accurately and efficiently and prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents. Review and comprehend written materials, policies, procedures, and instructions. Gather, compare, organize, and summarize data from a variety of sources. Ability to operate a computer and effectively use associated software applications, including Microsoft Office. Apply proper business English, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages, and review work for accuracy. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, volunteers, and the general public. Learn and follow department rules, procedures, and functions. Be willing to learn about shooting sports, range operations, and the customers served by the facility. Helpful, but not required: General knowledge of South Dakota's outdoors, including hunting, fishing, boating, and state parks. General knowledge of common hunting firearms and shooting sports.

Other Information :

This position will work mostly weekend (Saturday & Sunday) from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Work location will be at the Pete Lien & Sons Shooting Sport Complex (14514 Bill Janklow Road Piedmont, SD 57769). Please note this is a temporary or seasonal, non-benefited position, exempt from civil service.
