Job Description
Position Summary Our mission is to ensure our patients receive excellent care with a convenient, cooperative, and cost-effective atmosphere by providing experienced and efficient orthopaedic and surgical expertise. The purpose of the Front Office Staff is to provide exceptional customer service by ensuring a positive patient experience for new and seasoned patients alike. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent or higher education Computer proficiency with Windows and Outlook experience Good decision-making, communication, and organizational skills Must be able to work independently Must be able to multi-task and be flexible to accommodate the needs of their department due to the ever changing healthcare field Job Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization in a professional manner. Complies with policies and procedures; adheres to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment. Recognizes and responds to opportunities for improvement. Registering and/or updating patient registrations completely and accurately Ensuring all check-in paperwork is completed and scanned into the EMR system in a timely manner Verifying all patient demographic and insurance information is correct Collecting any copay or coinsurance due at time of service Maintaining confidentiality of patient information Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times. Responsible for knowing and following the standards established by HIPAA. Register and update patient demographics and insurance. Schedule Appointments Collecting any copays, co-insurance and balances at time of service. Work in multiple computer software systems Check in/out patients and make follow up appointments per protocol. Answer phones. Balance TOS and close office at the end of shift. Other Duties as Assigned. The Front Office Staff reports to the
