We are currently seeking a dynamic, skilled, and caring Licensed Practical Nurse/Medical Assistant (LPN/MA) to join our healthcare team to float across our four locations in Clarksville, Erin, and Dover, Tennessee. As an integral part of our team, you'll support both clinical and administrative functions, assisting in the delivery of excellent primary care in a patient-centered, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care Support:
Prepare Patients:
Escort patients to exam rooms, take and record vital signs (weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, waist circumference), and prepare them for exams and procedures.
Assist Providers:
Help healthcare providers during exams and medical procedures, ensuring a professional, calm, and supportive environment.
Patient Education:
Provide patients with instructions as directed by the physician or advanced practice provider (APP).
EMR Documentation:
Accurately document all relevant patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Clinical & Administrative Support:
Clinical Supplies & Equipment:
Ensure exam and procedure rooms are stocked with necessary medical supplies and maintain cleanliness. Assist with the sterilization of instruments and upkeep of required medical equipment.
Patient & Provider Communication:
Handle phone calls and messages from patients, physicians, and pharmacies in a timely manner. Process and triage messages as needed.
Patient Flow Management:
Ensure all necessary reports, labs, and patient records are accessible prior to patient appointments.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety:
Compliance Checks:
Maintain required logs (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, sterilization records) to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program, or Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program. LPN Certification required, or Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required within 90 days of hire.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care practices. Ability to administer injections and perform other clinical tasks (steady hands required). Proficiency in EMR systems and accurate documentation skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills, including professional phone etiquette. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute for documentation accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and support up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. Willingness to be exposed to contagious illnesses and work in a clinical setting. Ability to walk, stand, crouch, bend, push, and pull for extended periods. Must be up-to-date on vaccinations, or willing to become current prior to hire.
