Assistant Administrator Rocky Top Healthcare (Affiliate of The Ensign Group) Knoxville, TN Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $85,000 a year 13 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Nursing home experience Employee relationship building Leadership Full Job Description Assistant Administrator - Skilled Nursing Operations We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Administrator to serve as a key operational leader within our skilled nursing facility in Knoxville, Tennessee. This is not a passive administrative or training role. The Assistant Administrator will work directly with facility leadership and department heads to drive day-to-day execution, solve operational problems, improve resident and family experience, strengthen staffing, and ensure accountability across the organization. The right candidate will be someone who wants significant responsibility, enjoys solving problems, and is interested in growing into larger healthcare leadership roles. Key Responsibilities Help lead day-to-day facility operations and ensure priorities are executed. Work with department leaders to identify problems, establish expectations, and drive follow-through. Take ownership of resident and family concerns and coordinate timely resolution. Support staffing stability, retention, overtime and agency reduction initiatives. Monitor operational performance and lead improvement projects across departments. Support survey readiness, quality initiatives, and regulatory compliance. Serve as an extension of the Administrator and help maintain strong operational leadership when the Administrator is outside the building.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for someone who is highly accountable, comfortable taking ownership, and able to build strong relationships while holding others to high standards. The ideal candidate is organized, financially minded, a strong communicator, and comfortable solving difficult operational and people-related problems without significant oversight. Previous skilled nursing, healthcare operations, department-head leadership, or Administrator-in-Training experience is preferred. Nursing Home Administrator licensure is not required.
Pay range:
$75,000-$85,000 +
