Non-Exempt Summary The Deputy Clerk will be responsible for computer entry and handling sums of money; filing papers and new court cases; waiting on the public and being responsive to the public; answering the telephone and responding to telephone requests; working the mail; issuing all types of legal forms; and other related duties as assigned by the District Clerk. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Handles typing, filing and/or correspondence as related to specific department. May receive money, issue receipts and account for same. Greets customers, ascertains nature of business, and assists them or directs them to appropriate person for assistance. Compiles reports, reproduces materials, devises forms using typewriter, calculator, copy machine and computer, etc. Enters and/or utilizes information compiled in computer for particular office. May assist other employees with heavy work load, or on major projects. May be assigned special projects in coordination with routine duties. Must be able to operate various machines efficiently. Must be pleasant, patient, and sensitive to needs of customers and fellow employees.
