Job Description
City of Forney is seeking a dependable and organized Administrative Assistant to join the Parks and Recreation Department. This position will perform skilled tasks in general office administration, department budget management, records, and communications. The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties. Provide customer service; answer telephone and greet visitors; provide information and assistance; refer to appropriate personnel; take messages and make appointments. Maintain personnel calendars; schedule meetings, make travel arrangements, and track employee in/out status. Monitor project communications and deadlines to assist with timely delivery and inter-department coordination. Process invoices, purchase orders, and maintain records of department expenditures. Establish and maintain department files. Prepare and distribute correspondence and memoranda. Copy, fax, and file documents; enter data into electronic databases. Process incoming and outgoing mail. Maintain office and field supply inventory. Assist other departments' executive or administrative assistants when requested. Perform other duties as assigned.
