Job Description

Join our dynamic municipal team as a Utilities Clerk, where your organizational skills and customer service expertise will keep essential services running smoothly. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for residents and stakeholders, managing utility accounts, processing payments, and providing accurate information. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure efficient office operations and foster positive community relationships. Qualifications:
Duties Manage utility account setup, billing, payments, and adjustments with precision using bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks or ClerkBooks. Serve as the front desk receptionist, greeting visitors and answering multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. Handle incoming calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately. Perform data entry tasks accurately, maintaining detailed records of customer interactions, payments, and account changes. Organize and file documents systematically to ensure easy retrieval of confidential information and administrative records. Support office management activities including calendar management, appointment scheduling, and correspondence handling. Assist residents with billing questions, service requests, and account updates via client communication channels. Experience Bilingual skills are required to effectively communicate with diverse community members. Previous office experience in clerical or administrative roles is highly preferred. Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with data entry systems. Experience using QuickBooks or similar bookkeeping software is advantageous. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication, patience, and professionalism. Knowledge of office management procedures including filing systems, time management techniques, and handling confidential information responsibly.
