JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Purpose:
To assist and relieve director or supervisor of clerical work so that maximum attention may be devoted to educational administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Responsibilities and Duties Perform clerical duties of typing, computers, transcribing, and maintaining office records. Exercise good telephone etiquette, take reliable messages and route to appropriate person. Assist school personnel or patrons with bus information. Maintain filing systems. Process correspondence as instructed. Order supplies for assigned office. Duplicate printed materials as needed in the office assigned. Work cooperatively with other personnel in the building. Attend workshops and/or seminars for professional improvement. Data entry of bus disciplinary reports. Maintain all records of school bus warnings and discipline notes. Attendance at work is an essential function. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.
EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification/Minimum Experience:
High school diploma or
G.E.D. 15
credited college hours or three years experience as a secretary or similar office experience preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of general office procedures Reasonable degree of proficiency in typing, data entry and word processing Ability to greet the public both in person and by telephone
OTHER INFORMATION
Equipment Used:
Computer, telephone, laminating machine, typewriter, laser printer and copier.

Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 pounds), reaching above shoulders, use of fingers, walking, operation of motor vehicle, specific visual requirements, specific hearing requirements. Outside and inside; excessive heat, cold, humidity, dampness and/or chilling; excessive noise (intermittent), dust; fumes, smoke or gases; solvents (degreasing agents), grease and oils, unusual fatigue factors (long hours sitting at computer).
