Primary Purpose:

Perform various clerical duties that require good judgment in exercising these procedures: works carefully and tactfully with teachers, students, and parents.. Serve as secretary special programs such as ECHS and Crossroads.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED or ESC Region TOPP Certificate 48 College hours in Core Curriculum -

Preferred Special Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records Knowledge of basic accounting principles Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to perform a variety of tasks often changing assignment on short notice Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:

At least 3 years secretarial experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Records, Reports, and Correspondence 1. Perform tasks as secretary to the assistant principal to include taking messages, greeting their visitors, scheduling their meetings. 2. Serve as discipline clerk for all administration on campus. 3. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required by assistant principal. Uvalde CISD Principals Secretary 4. Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. 5. Assist students, teachers, staff, and parents as needed. 6. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for assistant principals. 7. Ability to coordinate and communicate with all staff. Other 8. Assist with planning, preparation, and setup of faculty meetings and campus activities. 9. Sort, distribute, or deliver mail and other documents. 10. Support office staff as needed and coordinate with the principals secretary. 11. Maintain confidentiality. 12. Report to work on time and absent only with a good cause. 13. Perform other duties as assigned.
