Full Job Description Bethany Lutheran Preschool & Elementary Position:
Office Assistant (Part-Time)
Start Date:
Spring 2026
Schedule:
3-5 days per week (approximately 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, schedule may vary)
Position Overview:
Bethany Lutheran Preschool and Elementary is seeking a warm, organized, and dependable Office Assistant to support the daily operations of our school. This part-time role serves as the welcoming face of the front office and provides administrative support to the Director, teachers, and families. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a school environment, communicates well with families and staff, and helps ensure the school day runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
Provide front office support and greet families, visitors, and prospective parents. Assist with answering phones, emails, and general inquiries. Maintain student records and assist with document organization and filing. Support enrollment processes, tour scheduling, and new family onboarding. Assist with preparing forms, newsletters, and school communications.
Operations Support:
Assist with daily attendance tracking and classroom communication. Support the Director with administrative tasks and scheduling. Help coordinate school events, special programs, and parent meetings. Assist with maintaining supply inventory and ordering office materials.
Family & Community Engagement:
Provide a welcoming and helpful experience for families and visitors. Support communication between staff, families, and administration. Assist with marketing materials, flyers, and event promotion when needed.
Technology & Systems:
Utilize school management systems (such as Procare) for student records and communication. Support basic office technology including email, document preparation, and data entry.
Qualifications:
Previous administrative or office experience preferred. Experience working in a school, childcare, or family-focused environment is a plus. Strong organizational and communication skills. Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, and basic office software. Ability to multitask and manage a variety of responsibilities throughout the day. Friendly, professional, and welcoming demeanor.
Personal Qualities:
Organized and detail-oriented. Warm and approachable with children, families, and staff. Reliable and flexible in a dynamic school environment. Able to work collaboratively with a small team.
