The Support Specialist I provides secretarial support to the school site; establishes and maintains records; compiles and distributes materials and reports; and responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources. This is currently a Support, 12-month position reporting to the School Prinicpal.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Job-related experience is desired. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Essential Functions:
Coordinates schedules, meetings, and activities in support of administrator/department staff with operational activities. Maintains a wide variety of files and records (manual/computer; confidential/non-confidential) to provide documentation in accordance with administrative and legal requirements. Monitors assigned departmental activities and/or program components (e.g. travel arrangements and reimbursements, meetings and events, etc.) to ensure that goals are achieved, target dates are met and financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements are satisfied. Performs record-keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, etc.) to support the teacher and/or administrator in providing necessary records/materials. Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, etc.) to document activities, provide written reference, and/or convey information. Responds to a variety of inquiries from internal and external parties (e.g. staff, parents, students, public agencies, etc.) and provides information, facilitates communication among parties, and/or provides direction. Supports school office functions in delivering services in accordance with established guidelines. Assists other personnel as may be required to ensure an efficient and effective work environment. Attends meetings and workshops to record events and convey and/or receive information. Other duties as assigned by School Principal.
Compensation:
Hourly wage $18.62 to $22.91 an hour (Additional factors in calculation, including hours, # of days, etc.)
FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt position•This position is classified as non-exempt, meaning it is eligible for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Clearances:
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance. Tuberculosis Skin Test. Public Health Compliance•Must follow safety and health protocols.
