Brief Description of DI The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) was founded in Qatar in 2015 as a Doha-based independent institution of higher education. The Institute offers MA and PhD programs in two schools: the School of Social Sciences and Humanities and the School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy. The Institute adopts a student-centred approach to learning, promotes interdisciplinary research, and uses Arabic as the primary language of instruction, with fluency in English a requirement. DI aims to graduate researchers and practitioners who can advance knowledge and better the human condition, while upholding the highest scientific, professional, and ethical standards. It provides advanced leadership-focused training that emphasizes the competencies necessary to satisfy the region's needs in sustainable development and intellectual advancement. Brief Description of Program As part of the School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy, the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, accredited by NASPAA, aims to prepare and qualify students to join the job market and assume administrative positions in both governmental and non-governmental organizations. The program emphasizes principles of equity, effectiveness, and diversity in its curriculum and in the recruitment process of students and faculty members. The Public Administration program also strives to graduate promising administrative professionals and experts who possess technical and managerial skills, in addition to promoting research and scholarly production in both Arabic and English, contributing to the enrichment of the public affairs field. Job Summary The School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy invites applications for a faculty position in Public Administration at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The program seeks scholars with a strong, coherent, and internationally oriented research agenda in public administration, public management, governance, public policy, public-sector reform, public service delivery, or related fields, with particular strength in quantitative empirical research. The successful candidate will contribute actively to the program's research productivity, international scholarly visibility, and master's and doctoral supervision. Research addressing contemporary public-sector and governance challenges, particularly in the Arab region and comparative contexts, is especially valued. Candidates must be proficient in Arabic and able to teach, conduct research, and communicate effectively in English. Main Responsibilities Maintain an active and ambitious research agenda in public administration, public management, governance, public policy, or related fields. Produce and publish high-quality research in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals, with the potential to contribute to leading debates in public administration and related disciplines. Teach graduate-level statistics, quantitative research methods, and applied data analysis, in addition to substantive courses in the candidate's areas of specialization. Supervise master's and doctoral students. Develop a sustained pipeline of research projects and working papers and pursue competitive external research funding. Contribute to collaborative and interdisciplinary empirical research within and outside the Doha Institute, including research using data relevant to Qatar, the GCC, and the Arab region. Participate actively in research seminars, conferences, workshops, and other scholarly activities that strengthen the program's international research profile. Contribute to curriculum development, program service, and the broader academic life of the Institute Qualification, Experiences and Skills Applicants must: Hold a PhD in Public Administration, Political Science, or a closely related field. Demonstrate a strong quantitative research profile and a coherent research agenda with clear potential for sustained publication in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals. Demonstrate advanced competence in statistics and quantitative research methods, evidenced through publications, dissertation research, working papers, methodological training, or other scholarly work. Have the ability and willingness to teach graduate-level statistics, quantitative research methods, and applied data analysis, as well as substantive courses in public administration. Have a record of high-quality scholarly publications appropriate to the academic rank sought. Demonstrate the ability or strong potential to secure competitive external research funding and develop collaborative research projects. Demonstrate the ability to supervise master's and doctoral students, particularly students undertaking empirical and quantitative research. Be proficient in Arabic and able to conduct research, teach, and communicate effectively in English. Demonstrate the ability to contribute to the program's international research visibility through publications, conferences, research networks, collaborations, and scholarly leadership.
