Position Overview

Brookfield Elementary School is seeking a highly organized, professional, and student-centered individual to serve as our Administrative Assistant. This position is an essential part of our school community and provides administrative and front-office support to students, families, staff, and school administration.

Brookfield Elementary is a small, welcoming school community committed to creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all students. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working with children and families, collaborating with staff, and contributing to a positive school climate.

Position Responsibilities

The Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support for the school and serve as an important point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Welcoming and assisting students, families, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answering and directing telephone calls, emails, and other inquiries.
  • Providing general information regarding school schedules, procedures, events, and activities.
  • Maintaining accurate student, staff, attendance, and other school records.
  • Supporting daily attendance procedures and communicating with families as needed.
  • Assisting with student arrival, dismissal, transportation, and other daily operational needs.
  • Preparing correspondence, reports, forms, schedules, and other school documents.
  • Managing and organizing office files and records while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Supporting school administration with calendars, meetings, communications, and other administrative tasks.
  • Assisting teachers and staff with clerical and operational needs.
  • Receiving and distributing mail, deliveries, and other materials.
  • Assisting with school events, meetings, and activities.
  • Maintaining a welcoming, organized, and efficient school office.
  • Responding appropriately and professionally to sensitive or confidential situations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the school administration.
  • Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The ability to interact positively and professionally with students, families, staff, and community members.

Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.

The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

The ability to manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities.

Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new technology and school-based systems.

The ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a collaborative school team.

Flexibility, reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude.

Previous administrative, clerical, school, or office experience is preferred.

Experience working with children in a school or similar setting is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly wage: $20.00-$22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
