$20.03 - $26.63 Starting salary for this position is: $20.03 (Hourly) Employees hired at the entry step of this range receive salary step advancement after six months and every 12 months thereafter. An employee hired at anything higher than the entry step of the range will have salary step advancement after 12 months and every 12 months thereafter until they reach the top of the salary range. Each salary step advancement will be approximately a 5% increase. About the Office Assistant 3 (Non-permanent classified paid hourly) - Colville, WA Under the general supervision of the Dean of Rural Education, this position performs a variety of complex clerical, administrative support, and customer service functions for the Colville Center and Spokane Community College Rural Programs. The position serves as a primary point of contact for students, staff, and the public, providing support for center operations, student services, records management, testing services, scheduling, inventory tracking, and special projects. Responsibilities require independent judgment, attention to detail, and knowledge of college policies, procedures, and resources to effectively support students and campus operations. This is a non-permanent classified paid hourly position. Not to exceed 18 months.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide accurate and timely dissemination of information to students, staff and the public over the phone, in-person or email.- Provide clerical support for center operations such as making copies, scanning documents, facility and equipment scheduling, processing forms, document creation and editing, sorting and filing documents, scheduling appointments and meetings, ordering office supplies and maintaining office records/calendars.
- Provides coverage and backup for the front offices to assist students in admissions and registration.
- Provide backup for CASAS and SCC test proctoring.
- Provide backup support and coverage for other SCC Rural Centers, including Inchelium and Republic, as needed.
- Coordinate technology support needs for the SCC Colville Center by submitting IT service requests and communicating technology issues affecting classrooms, student labs, and center operations.
- Perform data entry in PeopleSoft, including checking student IDs and doing add/drops.
- Digital file documents in HALFile.
- Supervise work study students as needed.
- Serve as back-up contact for students checking out and returning calculators, hotspots, and laptops.
- Create/modify social media posts to accurately reflect campus activities and important events to post on SCC Colville Social Media pages; Regularly update digital displays including outdoor reader board and indoor PowerPoint displays.
- Performs complex word processing tasks such as merging and sorting, integrating text with graphics and tables, uploading/downloading, customizing page layouts and creating footnotes and outlines.
- Uses spreadsheet and database software to develop/establish and maintain complex electronic and manual file systems, records, or database files.
- Prepares or assists in the preparation, compilation, and coordination of reports and records such as equipment usage, room usage, purchasing, travel, inventory, personnel, scheduling, registration, and testing.
- May assist in studies, surveys and the preparation of reports by gathering and computing numerical information; review reports for clarity and accuracy; refer questionable data or narrative to supervisor for clarification. Operates a variety of office printers including standard color printers and larger-format plotter.
- Opening and securing the building, as needed.
- Work in coordination with the SCC Bookstore and students to assist with ordering, receiving, and disbursement of student textbooks.
- Model professional decorum and mutual respect in all personal interactions.
- Comply with district policies, procedures and directives, state and federal regulations, orders and statutes and collective bargaining agreements.
- Support and advance Spokane Colleges' strategic plan and perform other duties as assigned.
