Job Description

Adoption Counselor/Office Assistant, required to work every other weekend and some Holidays. The Sauk County Humane Society Animal Shelter seeks an energetic, outgoing front desk office assistant to provide support to all customers and instill a favorable first impression to all SCHS customers. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, often stressful, environment, carry out general office functions, and maintain a commitment to the philosophies and policies of the SCHS in the performance of his/her duties.
General office functions:
Must be able to greet all customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, answer phone questions, be able to work a multi-line phone system, go through all steps of the adoption process including adoption counseling with potential adopters, data entry, and filing.
Requirements:
Excellent verbal and interpersonal customer service skills, multi-tasking, computer skills, maintaining neat and professional work space, and handling time sensitive materials. Critical evaluation and observation skills, attention to detail, animal handling experience, ability to think quickly in difficult situations, be able to run general office equipment (copier, fax, etc.), and know how to use Word and Excel.
