$18.00-$23.00 per hour, based on experience Position Overview Snowbelt Hardwoods is seeking a dependable, organized, and outgoing Administrative Assistant to join our office team. This position is designed as a cross-functional administrative role that will be trained in several key areas of our office operations. The goal is to develop an individual who understands multiple aspects of our business, can provide seamless coverage when other office staff are unavailable, and can help our entire administrative team operate more efficiently. This is not simply a fill-in position. The successful candidate will become an important part of our office team and gain hands-on experience across accounting, payroll, inventory, production, customer service, and order processing. For the right individual, this position offers the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility within Snowbelt Hardwoods and potentially advance into a Senior Office Manager role. Responsibilities The Administrative Assistant will be cross-trained in multiple areas of our office operations, including: Greeting customers, vendors, walk-in visitors, and truck drivers Answering and directing incoming phone calls Accounts payable Accounts receivable Payroll processing and related paperwork Lumber inventory entry and management Production paperwork and data entry Customer order paperwork and processing Maintaining accurate electronic and paper records Assisting other office staff as workloads require Providing coverage for key office functions during vacations, absences, and busy periods Learning the flow of information between our office, production, shipping, trucking, customers, and vendors Helping identify opportunities to improve administrative efficiency and organization Taking on additional responsibilities as knowledge and experience grow Qualifications We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, organized, and interested in learning how multiple areas of a business operate.
Preferred qualifications include:
Previous administrative, accounting, bookkeeping, or general office experience Associate or bachelor's degree preferred Strong organizational and time-management skills Attention to detail and accuracy Comfortable working with numbers and financial information Strong written and verbal communication skills Friendly and professional when interacting with customers, vendors, truck drivers, and coworkers Ability to learn multiple roles and transition between different responsibilities Dependable and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with payroll and financial information Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team We prefer an experienced office professional; however, we are also willing to train the right individual who is outgoing, dependable, trainable, motivated, and looking for an opportunity to grow within the company. Software & Technology Experience with the following is beneficial but not required: Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Excel Sage Accounting Proprietary lumber inventory and production software Training will be provided on company-specific systems and procedures.
