The Role and Why It's Important Our Club Coordinators bring events to life for customers and employees alike, planning, organizing, and executing Club Room events with creativity, attention to detail, and outstanding service. In this role, you'll communicate with customers to schedule and plan catered events, oversee room setup and staffing, coordinate technology and decorations, and make every occasion a memorable one. What You'll Do No two days are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect: Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and making every interaction a positive one Communicate with Club customers to schedule, plan, organize, and order catering for all events Set up, decorate, coordinate technology, and clean up all catered events Ensure the proper amount of staff is in place to handle customer needs for all events Participate on the store planning committee to coordinate employee events such as the Springtime party, Veteran's Day, and other occasions Handle and resolve customer issues promptly and professionally Answer the telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call, including taking product orders Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment Handle confidential information including gross percentage and sales data and employee wages with discretion Adhere to all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines Report to work when scheduled and on time Your Skills Solve practical problems and interpret instructions across a variety of situations with limited standardization Perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages accurately File, post, and organize materials; copy data accurately between records; and guide people with clear direction Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, team members, and vendors Reporting Relationships Accountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Service Managers;

Catering Department Manager Direct Reports:

Catering Employees Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; sanitation and food safety coursework encouraged Over one year of similar or related experience preferred Physical Requirements Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas Where applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation Where applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment Where applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties ​ Working Environment This is a fast-paced role in a catering and event environment where you will be on your feet throughout your shift. You will have frequent exposure to cool temperatures, dampness, and equipment noise and vibrations, with daily exposure to cleaning chemicals or solvents.
