Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Opera House Staff in the operation of the Stoughton Opera House with a particular emphasis on Box Office support and other administrative support. This position is directly supervised by the Opera House Director. The position will be between 10-20 hours per week with widely varying hours. Typically, there will be weekdays with occasional nights and weekends. Answer and respond to phone calls. Process ticket requests in person, over the phone, and via email. Communicate with patrons regarding their memberships. Perform daily functions including answering calls, meeting and greeting visitors, selling tickets, maintaining information and display materials, and assisting with mail, faxes, and deliveries. Perform specific duties related to ticket delivery, including mail order, walk-up, and will call. When needed, assist with specific duties associated with events including but not limited to hospitality, equipment load-in, and other stage work. Perform other related office administrative tasks, correspondence, and filing as required. Sell merchandise for bands using basic accounting and money handling skills. Driver's license and willingness to act as a "runner" for events using City vehicles. Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License. Must be able to successfully complete background check and drug screen.
