Monroe Health Center is seeking a professional and organized Front Office Specialist to join our team. This position is a full-time position , working at the Forest Hill Health Center in Forest Hill, WV . A Front Office Specialist role is critical to ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for our patients in a busy healthcare setting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Monroe Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to our rural community. Position Overview Key Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance Handle phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and staff Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Collect co-pays and payments, coordinating with the billing department as needed Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and care coordination Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; medical office training preferred 1-2 years of experience in a medical office or customer service role is preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus
