Job Description

Job Title:
Administrative Assistant (Tri-State Literacy Council)
Pay Grade:
$13.00 per hour. 25 hours/week.

Summary:
Mid-level administrative position which functions to assist the Director by collecting information from volunteers, adult learners, data entry, maintaining office supplies, and trouble-shooting questions.
Essential Job Functions:
The essential duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position. 1. To cover the office in Director's absence: Answers telephone, logs calls, schedules appointments, handles unscheduled visitors. 2. To collect volunteer tutors' monthly Hours Reports, reminding via email if necessary. 3. To enter volunteer and student information into LACES database. 4. To help maintain volunteer and student paper files. 5. To prepare and email a monthly classroom newsletter. 6. To help the director plan and implement social media posts across social platforms. 7. To attend bi-monthly board meetings, take notes, and type board minutes. 8. To perform other reasonably related duties related to the mission of Tri-State Literacy Council as assigned by Director as needed. Such duties may include but are not limited to: inventory teaching material and office supplies; assist with preparation of Tutor Training and Tutor Workshops; assist with preparation of Annual Holiday Pary and Annual Awards Dinner.
Requirements:
ProLiteracy Tutor Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months). LACES Data Management Training (to be obtained upon hiring). Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong commitment to adult literacy. Proficiency with standard office equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent diploma.
Pay:
$13.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
