Job Description
Catholic Mutual Group (CMG) is the leading provider of property, liability, and employee benefit coverage and related services for the Catholic Church across the United States and Canada. We are currently seeking a Service Office Assistant to join our team at our Wheeling Service Office in Wheeling, WV. Position Overview The Service Office Assistant provides essential administrative and clerical support to the Claims/Risk Manager and Service Office operations. This role is responsible for managing communications, maintaining accurate records, supporting claims processing activities, and ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the office. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and other documents with accuracy and timeliness
- Provide clerical and administrative support, including managing mail, photocopying, filing, and maintaining claim records
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries or relay messages appropriately
- Maintain computerized diary and tracking systems for claims and safety inspections
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, including uploading claim-related documents into internal systems
- Assist with claims support functions, including entering losses, reviewing documentation, and generating reports
- Support follow-up activities related to safety inspections and parish/location reporting
- Review certificates of coverage and related insurance documentation for accuracy and completeness; review endorsements and coverage changes for required criteria and completion of appropriate forms
- Utilize designated data entry systems for coverage programs ensuring accuracy
- Maintain office supplies and coordinate service/maintenance of office equipment
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- 3-5 years of administrative or clerical experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Word and Excel)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Basic knowledge of insurance terminology preferred Benefits
