MonitorPOSITION SUMMARY
The Monitor is responsible for providing student support on school grounds, during school events or during their transportation for their safety and well-being.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Monitor:
Assists students for the purpose of providing safe environments for their well-being..- Attends unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job functions.
- Instructs students for the purpose of enforcing rules/regulations and maintaining student safety and well-being..
- Monitors students while on school property or at a school event for the purpose of ensuring the safety and well-being of students..
- Prepares reports (e.g. incident reports, student behavior, attendance, safety concerns, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, conveying information, and/or complying with established guidelines.
- Reports observations and/or incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate personnel for their action.
- Follows the policies and procedures of the school and the District.
- Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility, such as demonstrating ethical behavior; providing accurate data and reports when needed; meeting deadlines; maintaining confidentiality; caring for the equipment and materials; and dressing appropriately and presenting a good role model.
- Other duties as assigned.
