Job Description

The City of Valdez City Clerks office is seeking a Records Digitization Technician to assist the Record Manager with the comprehensive digitization and organization of records into the City of Valdez's electronic records management system. This position may also perform routine clerical duties and provide administrative support as needed. This is a temporary, non-benefited position working up to 37.5 hours per week until December 31, 2026. Work hours are flexible within the standard work week between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. Position is open until filled, review of applicants is ongoing.
Physical requirements and work environment:
Work is performed in an office environment Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, may sit or stand for prolonged periods Must be able to climb stairs with or without accommodation May be exposed to dust and other debris Minimum qualifications: Must be 18 years or older Possess a high school diploma/

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Scanning record documents and RDT filing paper files within the City records management system Organization of electronic files and entering of metadata in the City's electronic records management system Uses various office equipment, software and technology with limited supervision Routine clerical duties and administrative support Knowledge, skills, and other characteristics: Demonstrated knowledge of office operations Moderate to advanced computer skills Ability to complete detail-oriented work Ability to be self-directed and complete assigned projects in required timeframes
