Naswik, LLC, is a joint partnership between Chugach, Tatitlek and Chenega. It is a four-story building located in the city of Valdez that offers premium commercial spaces, hotel rentals, and workforce housing. Naswik is the Sugt'stun word for 'look out', a vantage point that offers a comprehensive view and is the tallest building in Valdez offering sensational views of both the ocean and mountains.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Housekeeper provides for exceptional customer service and support of guests of Chugach Naswik, a short term and nightly rental facility in Valdez, AK. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and shared spaces within the hotel and doing laundry as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner. Cleaning and arranging guest rooms. Washing bedding and linen as required. Stocking and maintaining an inventory of housekeeping supplies. Dusting furniture and fixtures. Scrubbing and sanitizing showers, bathtubs, toilets, countertops and sinks. Vacuuming and cleaning carpets, doormats and rugs. Reporting breakages, damages, and safety issues for repair. Answer general questions from guests. Performs related duties as assigned. Writing and completing check lists and reports related to cleaning schedules and inventory management.

Work Conditions:

Work requires the individual to be on their feet throughout the day cleaning the hotel. Any office work is performed in a traditional office environment. Incumbent should be able to walk unassisted, bend, squat, lift and stand or sit for extended periods of time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and follow signs and written instructions. Ability to perform duties in a timely manner and meet established deadlines. Ability to use hand or lightweight cleaning tools. Physical strength to lift heavy objects or furnishings up to 50lbs. Ability to take instructions and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma, GED or equivalent qualification. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
