Opens a new window. We are looking for an Office Technician with five to ten years of experience to join our Construction team in our Omaha office. Candidates must have a High School Diploma, MDOT documentation training and a valid driver's license.
Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Interpret project plans and specifications
- Prepare Notice of Award, Notice to Proceed, Agreement, and Bonds for execution
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the construction process
- Assist with the processing and verification of contractor payrolls, prevailing wage on projects, payment applications and preparing certificates for payment
- Support Project Managers in preparing certification letters, substantial completion letters, final
inspections, correspondence to contractors/owners, and expedite resolution for various issues - Support and assist in the preparation of proposals
- Prepare and collaborate in the development of standard document control procedures, guidelines,
and practices - Maintain construction standard field forms and file index
- Lead the effort to set up, maintain, and audit construction project files and related information
- Attend client, public, project, and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc., as needed to support Project Managers
- Prepare project status, logs, reports, etc.
- Assist Project Managers with processing of submittals and RFIs and maintaining all related logs and
electronic files - Assist in the timely processing of all project-related documentation
- Assist Project Managers with all project-related administrative tasks
- Attend seminars and/or training classes to further develop document control skills
- Maintain excellent client relations

Skills/Experience:
This position requires excellent file and document management and organizational skills in order to accommodate multiple tasks simultaneously and excellent communication skills when dealing with individuals at all levels, as well as clients, sub-consultants, and contractors.
