Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Clerk Typist to join our administrative team. In this important role, you will be responsible for providing efficient clerical support and ensuring smooth office operations. Your strong organizational skills, proficiency with office software, and ability to handle confidential information will contribute significantly to our success. Duties Format, type and print documents (memos, notes, reports, letters, receipts and forms) adhering to Gabriel Project standards. Track monetary and baby item donations. Compose donor thank you letters and receipts. Perform accurate data entry, maintain data records and develop data reports. Receive, assemble and interpret raw data. Research and resolve data discrepancies. Organize and maintain physical and digital filing systems to support daily operations. Handle front desk receptionist duties, including greeting visitors and answering phone calls. Maintain positive communications and provide information on Gabriel Project services. Proofread documents for accuracy, clarity, and proper formatting before distribution. Assist with various operational tasks, such as photocopying, mailings, bank deposits, ordering supplies, fundraising activities, etc. Perform other duties as assigned or with supervisory approval. Requirements Excellent reading, writing and verbal English language communication skills. Familiarity with office procedures and equipment. Type at least 35 words per minute with accuracy.. Computer literacy skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe and Google Docs. Familiarity with the internet, email, and social media platforms. Experience with data entry and proofreading. Willingness and ability to learn new computer software programs as necessary. Experience with handling client, donor and financial records confidentially and securely. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently and with volunteers. Ability to interact with impoverished clients in a caring, compassionate manner. Willingness to take on new tasks and respond positively to changing priorities. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. One year general office clerical experience including data entry. Preference given to candidates with nonprofit organization experience.
Note:
Final candidates will be required to take an in-house or online typing test to judge ability and accuracy. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Indoor office environment. In-person work only. Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner. Sitting for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of standard office equipment. Occasional kneeling and bending.
