Job Description

Casting "A Quiet Between," a 7-page dramatic short produced through USC School of Cinematic Arts' CTPR 310 Intermediate Production course (USC Production No. 263-310-3028).
Synopsis:
Frank (78) starts his morning the way he always has: two mugs of coffee, one for himself and one for his wife Helen (74), and a story she's heard before. That evening he moves through a crowded family gathering at his daughter Annie's house, telling the same easy jokes to relatives who laugh a beat too early and never quite meet his eye. As the night goes on, the room's voices dissolve; only Helen's stays clear. Out on the back porch, a dropped wedding ring he cannot pick up and a framed photograph he finally lets himself see reveal what everyone else already knows: this is his memorial. A quiet, tender short about hearing loss, grief, and the rituals that outlast us. Seeking authentic senior performers for the two leads.
