About the Role Inkjet Mail Operator sets up, operates, and maintains high-volume inkjet printing systems to address, barcode, and personalize mail pieces according to USPS specifications. They are responsible for reading job tickets, troubleshooting equipment (like Kirk-Rudy or MCS systems), managing ink levels, and ensuring high-quality, accurate output while meeting production deadlines. Applicants must have previous experience.
Key Responsibilities Machine Setup & Operation:
Configure inkjet printers, conveyors, and tabbers for daily jobs, including loading digital files and adjusting print heads for proper placement.Quality Control:
Inspect printed materials for image clarity, proper, and accurate barcode scanability according to USPS regulations.Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of printing equipment to minimize downtime.Production Monitoring:
Ensure jobs run efficiently, meeting speed and accuracy standards.Postal Compliance:
Ensure mail is sorted, trayed, and prepared for post office requirements.Others Duties:
Will perform other duties as assign by their supervisor when mail work is not available.Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.Experience:
Previous experience in printing, lettershop, or working with inkjet equipment is required.Technical Skills:
Familiarity with computer operations and printer software.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.Common Equipment & Skills Systems:
Kirk-Rudy or similar inkjet systems.Tasks:
Sorting, traying, and palletizing mail.Job Knowledge:
