Your Specific Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for retrieving incoming mail from the United States Postal Service each day and transporting it to the Department of Health mailroom for processing. Duties include sorting all incoming mail and packages and ensuring accurate distribution to the appropriate program areas and recipients. The role also includes delivering mail throughout the campus in a timely and secure manner, as well as receiving, logging, and checking in all FedEx, UPS, and other carrier deliveries to verify package counts and ensure proper routing. The employee maintains the organization and operational readiness of the mailroom and provides additional support for mailroom functions as needed to ensure continuity of operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with strong customer service skills and effective verbal communication abilities. The employee must be able to follow written and verbal instructions, pay close attention to detail, and perform tasks accurately and reliably. The role also requires the ability to interact professionally with staff and external carriers, maintain a courteous demeanor, and carry out assigned duties with consistency and dependability.
Qualifications:
Minimum - A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Applicants must demonstrate strong customer service skills and effective verbal communication abilities. The position requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, pay close attention to detail, and perform tasks accurately and reliably. A valid Florida driver's license is required for this position. Preferred - Experience working in a mailroom, warehouse, or similar operational environment is preferred. Familiarity with USPS, FedEx, and UPS delivery processes is beneficial. Experience with sorting, logging, or distributing mail or packages is also helpful.
