Job Overview Tuesday-Friday 8:30-1:30pm paid bi-weekly Join our team as a Rural Mail Carrier and become a vital link in connecting communities through reliable mail and package delivery. In this energetic role, you will navigate designated rural routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of mail, parcels, and other items. Your dedication will help keep communities connected, while you enjoy the satisfaction of providing excellent customer service every day. Duties Sort, case, organize, and prepare mail and parcels for daily delivery routes. Load and unload mail, packages, and accountable items while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Operate postal vehicles safely while complying with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, USPS policies, and traffic laws. Deliver mail, packages, and certified items to residential and business customers in a timely and professional manner. Provide courteous, dependable customer service while representing the United States Postal Service. Maintain accurate delivery records, route documentation, and accountability for all mail and parcels assigned. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after each shift, reporting mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly. Follow established safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques, vehicle operation, and accident prevention practices. Ensure the security and confidentiality of all mail entrusted for delivery. Work efficiently in varying weather conditions while meeting delivery schedules and maintaining service standards. Skills & Qualifications Experience in mail delivery, courier services, transportation, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred. Valid driver's license with a safe driving record. Knowledge of DOT regulations, defensive driving practices, and safe vehicle operation. Strong organizational skills with the ability to accurately sort and manage large volumes of mail and packages. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to lift and carry heavy mail trays and packages while following proper safety procedures. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and complete assigned routes efficiently. Experience using delivery scanners, route sheets, and handheld mobile devices is preferred. Ability to adapt to changing workloads, weather conditions, and delivery priorities.
