Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Mailroom Clerk is responsible for the efficient handling, sorting, distribution, and processing of incoming and outgoing mail and packages within the organization. This role ensures timely delivery of correspondence and supports daily office operations through strong organization and attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and interoffice correspondence 2. Prepare outgoing mail by weighing, labeling, and ensuring proper postage 3. Operate mail processing equipment such as postage meters, scanners, and sorting machines 4. Coordinate with delivery services (e.g., USPS, FedEx, UPS) for pickups and shipments 5. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of sensitive and time-critical documents 6. Maintain organized mailroom and storage areas 7. Assist with bulk mailings, inventory, and reporting 8. Monitor mailroom supplies and reorder materials as needed 9. Follow company procedures for handling confidential or secure materials 10. Other duties as assigned Reports directly to
Supervisor/Shipping & Receiving Education/Technical Knowledge:
Requires a working knowledge of practices and procedures of a given vocation or trade, the ability to read operating instructions or directions and use all common tools and materials.
Additional Skills Needed:
1. General knowledge of postal, UPS, air express, and freight rates and regulations, along with standard shipping procedures, preferred. 2. Ability to accurately receive, store, and retrieve merchandise as needed. 3. Basic computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 4. Experience operating postage meter machines and related mailroom equipment.
Experience:
Over 3 months up to 1 year
Physical Factors and Working Conditions:
Physical activity required in performance of duties such as reaching, lifting, walking, carrying, pushing, etc. Works in well lighted, heated, and air conditioned office. The employee regularly is required to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee frequently must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the physical demands of the job.
Pay:
$11.00 - $13.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
