Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Mail Handler Assistant to join our logistics and distribution team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently processing, sorting, and distributing mail and packages within a busy warehouse environment. Your contributions will ensure timely delivery and accurate handling of all incoming and outgoing correspondence, supporting the organization's operational excellence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, physical stamina, and a commitment to quality service. Duties Sort incoming and outgoing mail, parcels, and shipments using manual techniques and automatic inserting machines. Operate warehouse materials handling equipment such as forklifts to load, unload, and transport heavy items safely. Assist with shipment sorting, shipping, and receiving processes to ensure accurate delivery schedules. Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting to move packages within the warehouse. Maintain precise records of mail distribution and data entry into relevant tracking systems. Organize and file shipping documents, labels, and delivery receipts systematically. Support warehouse operations by loading and unloading shipments efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Conduct outdoor work activities as needed for delivery or pickup tasks in various weather conditions. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries related to mail processing or shipment status. Operate warehouse equipment safely and competently, including automatic inserting machines for mailing tasks. Requirements Prior experience in warehouse distribution or mail processing environments is highly desirable. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications for data entry and record keeping. Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts; forklift certification is preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, sorting, and documentation. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments. Knowledge of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving procedures. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service orientation. Outdoor work experience is advantageous for roles involving outdoor deliveries or pickups. Familiarity with automatic inserting machines used in mailing processes is a plus. From $60,380.00 per year
