In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering packages and mail to rural and suburban areas, ensuring timely service while maintaining high standards of safety and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine driving, manual handling, and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment that values your dedication and reliability. Duties Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements. Load, unload, and organize packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary. Drive assigned routes efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while navigating rural roads and route driving challenges. Deliver packages directly to customers' doorsteps with professionalism, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns. Use mobile devices to track deliveries, update delivery statuses, and communicate with dispatch teams promptly. Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy or bulky items, ensuring personal safety and the safety of others. Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and documentation throughout each shift to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Experience Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred. Proven delivery driver experience with a focus on route driving, load & unload procedures, and adherence to traffic laws. Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is advantageous. Commercial driving experience, especially with box trucks or similar vehicles requiring manual transmission skills. Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques, safe lifting practices, and weight handling in the workplace is essential. Familiarity with mobile devices for route navigation and delivery updates is desirable. Prior experience in courier services or as a delivery driver will help you excel in this role by demonstrating your ability to manage time effectively and deliver exceptional customer service.
