Cases, delivers, and collects mail along a prescribed rural route using a personal vehicle; provides customers on the route with a variety of services including delivering and collecting mail, selling stamps, and providing mail security at all times. They must maintain a neat and professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions with the public. Desirable candidates must have a valid state driver's license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger. Must have a vehicle suitable for delivering mail and live within easy commuting distance of the facility location. Must be able to communicate in and understand the English language with or without a reasonable disability accomodation under the Rehabilitation Act.
Physical Requirements:
The job can be physically demanding. Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. Applicants must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of this position, which require prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching and may involve handling heavy trays and containers of mail and parcels weighing up to 70 pounds. Must be able to maintain flexibility as you will be providing service as a substitute for Rural Carriers.
