Overview Join our dynamic team as a City Carrier Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of mail and packages within your community. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to be on the move, providing excellent service while supporting the operational needs of a busy distribution environment. As a key member of our logistics network, you'll engage in outdoor work, handle materials with care, and contribute to timely deliveries that keep communities connected. Duties Sort and prepare mail and packages for delivery using shipment sorting systems and automatic inserting machines Load and unload vehicles safely, utilizing material handling equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners Deliver mail, parcels, and supplies to designated addresses efficiently while maintaining high customer service standards Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and other material handling tools to manage inventory and shipments Conduct warehouse operations tasks such as filing, data entry, and shipment tracking to ensure accurate records Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including verifying shipments, organizing storage areas, and managing mail distribution Perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions Qualifications Previous warehouse experience or outdoor work experience preferred; familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners safely and effectively Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry, filing, and shipment sorting Basic math skills for accurate measurement, counting, and record keeping Excellent customer service skills to assist recipients professionally and courteously Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual handling tasks regularly Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is beneficial for record management and reporting purposes This role is an excellent fit for motivated individuals who thrive in active environments.
