Carnegie Mellon University Keyword Location Search view all jobs Window Mail/Package Handler - Postal Services Pittsburgh, PA Posted 2 days ago Apply Now Carnegie Mellon University's Postal Services team is seeking a full-time Window Mail Package Handler to join their team in Pittsburgh, PA.
Core responsibilities include:
Sorting, distributing, and metering mail and parcel post packages received from USPS and other carriers Providing front-line customer service to internal and external customers at the Post Office window, selling stamps, determining postal rates for domestic or international mailing, and selling postage for certified, insured, express, and registered mail and packages. Maintaining appropriate records and accurately handling cash transactions. Delivering mail and packages to departments following a set schedule by operating a motor vehicle and walking a set route. Operating a postage meter. Sorting mail for distribution according to organizational structure, box, and/or building location. Receiving and unpacking incoming mail and packages delivered through U.S. Postal Service. Other related duties as assigned.
You should demonstrate:
Ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult situations and/or individuals. Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and with frequent interruptions. Proficiency in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work well individually and as part of a team. Accountability for the quality of work. Strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University. Qualifications:
High school or GED required. Minimum of 1 year experience required A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Successful background check Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening Fitness for duty assessment and pre-employment medical exam Valid PA driver's license & Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in Pittsburgh, PA.
