Job Description

Job Summary We're looking for a Warehouse Sorter to help keep packages flowing to the right place each day. You'll work at the sorting area, reading labels and placing items into bins, carts, or onto pallets as they come off the truck. It's on-your-feet work, and the pace generally picks up whenever a delivery lands. Then it settles. If a label is unreadable or a box looks crushed, you'll set it aside and let the shift lead know, because a package sent to the wrong dock can take a couple of days to track down, and nobody enjoys that call from a customer. Responsibilities Sorting packages by label or zone Scan each item before it goes in a bin Cart and pallet loading Tearing down empty pallets and flattening cardboard, which tends to stack up when trucks arrive back to back, so keep the walkways clear as you go Let the shift lead know about damaged items Sweeping the sorting area before you clock out Qualifications You spot small things like a smudged label or a wrong zone number, even when the line is moving quickly. Being comfortable with a handheld scanner or a basic computer screen is enough for looking up where a package belongs. If you can read English well enough to follow labels and posted signs, you'll usually do fine here. Showing up on time for your scheduled shifts matters, since the next person on the line is counting on you. When two trucks show up at once, you work out which one to unload first and stay calm while you do it. Being friendly and respectful with coworkers makes the shift go faster for everybody. Willingness to learn how we do things, and to ask when you're not sure, counts for a lot.
