Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Rural Carrier Associate to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to handle physical demands associated with the role. Responsibilities Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner. Operate various vehicles, including box trucks and manual transmission vehicles, while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload mail and packages, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Maintain accurate delivery records and ensure all deliveries are accounted for. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries or concerns from customers during delivery. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation. Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including moving items with forklifts or pallet jacks. Experience Previous experience in customer service is highly desirable. Experience in warehouse operations or as a delivery driver is preferred. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is beneficial. Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving of packages weighing up to 70 pounds. Experience with route driving is an asset, along with knowledge of local roads and areas. Prior experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is advantageous. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
