Job Description

SUMMARY :
Under the direct supervision of the Legislative Mail Room & Facilities Supervisor and the general direction of the Legislative Facilities Management Director, performs mail clerical duties of routine difficulty and performs related work as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Distributes mail to designated locations within the Legislature, which may include hand delivery to addressees. Learns proper mail destination which will require opening and reading mail. Learns to keep accurate record of incoming and outgoing mail which may include logging statistics, metering mail, and other mail services. Learns mail procedures as related to clearly printing bar codes, checking addresses, postage, date, sealing, and meter reading for pick-up, delivery, and further processing. Sorts incoming and outgoing mail by destination or established sorting scheme. Properly executes mail processing procedures to include receiving, sorting, and distributing of all incoming and outgoing mail. Provides customer service to employees with mail related questions. Loads mail into postal handling equipment, which may include tubs, trays, gurneys, and/or vehicles for pick-up or further processing. Operates mail processing equipment which may include weights, scanners, metering, and postage.

SALARY RANGE
$44,868 to $66,684 Salary determined based on Education/Experience.
