Mailroom and Office Services Clerk Navy Mutual Aid Association - 2.9 Arlington, VA Job Details 11 hours ago Qualifications Route driving Confidential information handling Courier driving Outdoor work experience Moving High school diploma or GED Driver's License Productivity software Full Job Description Position Summary The Mailroom and Office Services Clerk is an entry-level role supporting daily mailroom, office-services, and basic front desk operations. Key requirements include processing mail and deliveries, maintaining mailroom supplies and equipment, assisting visitors, protecting confidential information, and demonstrating reliability, attention to detail, professionalism, and teamwork. Other duties include providing backup for the Facilities Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Drive to the designated local U.S. Post Office each business day to collect incoming mail and deliver outgoing mail, as assigned. Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail and deliveries; calculate and affix postage to outgoing mail. Process and route certified, registered, priority, express, and other accountable mail. Identify and promptly route time-sensitive, confidential, or priority correspondence. Maintain proof-of-mailing, delivery, and accountable-mail records. Accept deliveries from USPS, UPS, FedEx, Amazon, couriers, vendors, and other carriers. Prepare outgoing packages, shipping labels, postage, and related documentation. Coordinate carrier pickups and assist with shipment tracking and delivery inquiries. Maintain mailroom machinery and supplies and serve as a point of contact for service issues. Assist with special mailings, packet assembly, copying, filing, secure shredding, and related office-services tasks. Complete ad hoc projects by prioritizing and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously and following through in a timely manner. Support conference-room setup, employee onboarding materials, office moves, supply deliveries, and other internal logistics as assigned. Assist with visitor sign-in and sign-out procedures. Provide basic visitor assistance, such as directions, access information, and general front desk support, as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and travel locally each business day, as assigned. Basic proficiency with email, common Microsoft Office applications, office equipment, and routine administrative tools. Strong organizational, time-management, customer-service, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize recurring tasks, manage multiple initiatives, follow established procedures, and maintain accurate records. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in mailroom operations, shipping and receiving, office services, administrative support, facilities, or logistics. Experience working with USPS, UPS, FedEx, postage systems, or shipment-tracking tools. Experience handling confidential documents or accountable mail. Physical and Working Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive sorting tasks. Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 40 pounds and move heavier items with assistance or appropriate equipment. Ability to push mail carts and transport mail, packages, and office supplies safely. Ability to work in an office and mailroom environment and travel outdoors in varying weather conditions.
