Job Overview Apply at usps.com/careers Join our team as a Rural Carrier Associate, where you will play a vital role in ensuring timely and efficient delivery of packages and mail to rural communities. This position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, navigate diverse routes, and provide exceptional customer service. As a key member of our delivery network, you will be responsible for safely handling mail and packages, operating various vehicles, and maintaining positive interactions with customers. This job has limited benefits, including health insurance and paid leave, and is career track, with a path to a career job within two years. You will be assigned to back up a specific rural route, cover leave on that route, and be trained on other routes within the office. At this time, hours are likely to be heavy and steady. Job is posted at USPS.com/Careers Friday 9/11 through Tuesday 9/15, and following weekends until filled. Duties Safely operate delivery vehicles in adherence to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws Load, unload, and transport mail and packages using manual handling techniques. Deliver parcels directly to customers' doorsteps, ensuring accurate and timely service while adhering to safe lifting practices Use mobile devices to track deliveries, follow route information, and communicate with dispatch team effectively Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance Navigate assigned routes efficiently using route driving best practices while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction Experience Proven experience as a delivery driver is valued Must have a valid driver's license and personal vehicle for delivering. Mileage and maintenance allowance paid. Fleet vehicle may be provided, if available.
