Type:

full-time Receptionist / Administrative AssistantCompany Description Walters & Associates Insurance is a long-established, Alaska-based insurance brokerage founded in 1982. We work with both personal and commercial clients to provide insurance solutions tailored to their needs. Our team has extensive experience in the insurance industry, and we take pride in providing personal service and building long-term relationships with our clients. We are a small, professional office where everyone plays an important role in keeping things running smoothly. Role Description We are looking for a dependable and organized person to join our team as our Head Receptionist. This is a full-time, on-site position in Soldotna, Alaska. The Head Receptionist is the first point of contact for many of our clients and is responsible for keeping the front office organized and running smoothly. Responsibilities include answering and directing phone calls, greeting clients, managing mail, scheduling appointments, maintaining files, data entry, and assisting our insurance staff with various administrative tasks. This is a position where being reliable, staying organized, and following through are important. We are looking for someone who is friendly and professional, shows up on time, pays attention to details, and can be counted on to handle their responsibilities. You should also be comfortable with computers and technology. We will train you on our systems and the insurance business, but you should be someone who learns quickly and is comfortable picking up new software and processes. What We're Looking For Dependable, punctual, and responsible. Friendly and professional with clients and coworkers. Strong phone etiquette and communication skills. Organized and attentive to detail. Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Comfortable using computers, office software, and phone systems. Able to learn new technology, software, and processes quickly. Willing to take initiative and work independently. Good customer service skills and a positive attitude. Interested in learning and growing with the company. Previous receptionist, office, administrative, or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Experience in insurance, financial services, or another professional office setting is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, spreadsheets, and data entry is also a plus. Room to Grow This position can be the starting point for a long-term career with Walters & Associates Insurance. As you learn the insurance business and gain experience, there is an opportunity to take on more responsibility and eventually move into an Insurance Agent position. We are looking for someone who wants to learn, grow, and move up within the company. You do not need to have insurance experience to apply-we are looking for someone who has the ability and willingness to learn. Compensation Starting pay will be based on experience, skills, and ability to learn. We are willing to pay more for the right person, particularly someone with relevant experience who can learn quickly and take on additional responsibility. As your knowledge, skills, and responsibilities grow, there is room for your position and compensation to grow as well.
