Intervention and Clinical Services Manager The National Children's Advocacy Center (NCAC) is seeking a full-time Receptionist to join our Intervention and Clinical Team in a blended role, supporting the Madison County Multidisciplinary (MDT) team partners and the families we serve. The Receptionist will ensure smooth day-to-day operations by assisting our MDT members in welcoming visitors to the Team building for much of the day, and in the afternoons, they will shift to the Children's Building to continue greeting and assisting children and families there. This role is best suited for someone who is compassionate and has experience working in a waiting room and with clients from diverse backgrounds who may have experienced trauma or crisis. This is a clerical and administrative opportunity for a detail-oriented and self-disciplined individual who is passionate about supporting the NCAC's mission to champion and strengthen the global response to child abuse.About the role:
As a member of our team in Huntsville, AL, you will be responsible for handling the front desk and lobby area of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) building, which provides adult-oriented child abuse prevention services. You will work collaboratively with the Madison County MDT, including law enforcement agencies, the district attorney's office, and the Department of Human Resources. You will also work closely with clients, caregivers, and the NCAC's clinical services team, ensuring that children and families are supported and supervised while waiting to receive services in the Children's Building. You will help maintain a sense of order and a calm atmosphere in a busy lobby where individuals may be experiencing a crisis.A typical day may include:
Greeting families entering the building and expressing sensitivity to their needs Assisting caregivers and other family members as needed Checking clients into the building and notifying staff of their arrival Interacting with child protection workers and law enforcement Supervising visitors, children, and families in the lobby area Answering phones and taking accurate messages Assisting with scheduling appointments Completing intake sheets and providing school/work excuses Entering data accurately and efficiently Other duties as assigned You will thrive in this job if you: Have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy Effectively operate a multi-line telephone system Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook calendars Are adaptable and dependable Can work with traumatic subject matter, including child abuse and sexual assault Maintain the highest confidentiality standards Remain calm in stressful situations Establish and maintain effective working relationships Read, write, and speak English. Location and Hours This position will work Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am- 6:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am
- 2:00 pm (approximately 40 hours per week) onsite at our Huntsville, AL office. Our standard business hours are 9:00
