Sacred Heart Residence - Mobile , operated by the Little Sisters of the Poor , is looking for a Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The Receptionist is often the first person our residents, families, visitors, and community members encounter, making this a meaningful role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in our Home. We are looking for someone who is professional, patient, calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoys working with older adults. Schedule Part-time | Non-Exempt Applicants must be available to work: Evening shifts Night shifts Every other weekend Occasional holidays as needed This is an on-site position . Flexibility in scheduling is important because the Front Desk provides coverage for our Home around the clock. What You'll Do As our Front Desk Receptionist, you will: Welcome residents, families, visitors, vendors, and other guests with warmth and courtesy. Answer, screen, and direct telephone calls and take accurate messages. Maintain a safe and secure environment by following visitor sign-in procedures and established security protocols. Monitor the reception area and building activity and respond appropriately to security concerns. Respond to alarms and emergency situations according to established procedures. Listen to residents and families with patience and empathy and help direct their questions or concerns to the appropriate staff member. Help maintain a peaceful, welcoming, and organized reception area. Maintain accurate information such as resident names and room numbers, emergency contacts, department extensions, and key personnel. Assist with basic clerical and administrative tasks as needed. Work cooperatively with nursing, administrative, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments. Maintain strict confidentiality of resident, family, employee, and organizational information. Follow all safety, infection-control, security, and organizational policies and procedures. Perform other duties that support the needs and mission of the Home. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Warm, friendly, and compassionate Dependable and trustworthy Patient and respectful Able to remain calm and professional during busy periods or emergencies Comfortable communicating with residents, families, visitors, and staff Detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities Comfortable working independently while also being part of a team Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment Flexible and willing to adapt to changing needs Comfortable learning telephone, pager, alarm, and other facility systems Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English Genuinely interested in serving and working with older adults Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous reception, customer service, healthcare, senior living, or long-term care experience preferred Experience working with older adults is a plus Knowledge of fire safety and emergency procedures is helpful Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation Why This Role Matters At Sacred Heart Residence, the Front Desk is much more than a place to answer phones.
