Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic MRI Receptionist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience while managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in, and administrative support for the MRI department. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help facilitate efficient patient flow and uphold the highest standards of patient service. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service and guiding them through the check-in process. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule MRI appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, AdvancedMd, or Athenahealth. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance authorizationsprocedures Maintain accurate patient records by reviewing documentation for completeness and correctness in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries professionally, and direct calls appropriately. Assist with medical documentation review, and ensure proper medical billing procedures are followed. Support administrative tasks including filing medical records, updating patient information in EMR systems. Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and ensure timely appointments. Uphold confidentiality standards by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and safeguarding sensitive health information at all times. Qualifications Proven experience in a medical receptionist or front desk role within a healthcare setting, preferably in clinics. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic,Advanced MD, Athenahealth, or similar platforms is a plus. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing (10-key). Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and Medicare guidelines. Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities. Ability to review medical documentation accurately and support medical administrative functions efficiently. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
