Job Description

The Front Office Representative for our Rural Health Clinic is the central point of communication for our doctors, patients, and other team members of the health care team. Their main responsibility is to provide superior level reception services to the doctors, patients, and staff in a caring and supportive manner. Their duties include scanning and recording documents efficiently and promptly, handling inquiries & patient scheduling efficiently, promptly and courteously. Regular attendance is required. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Essential Duties:
Maintain office supplies and forms necessary to carry out front desk activities. Scheduling appointments for patients in accordance with established procedures. Answering phone calls in a professional and courteous manner within minimum rings. Liaising with patients, general practitioners, health care professionals and patients' family members in a compassionate and kind manner. Receiving patients in a polite and courteous manner, monitoring the patient's flow into treatment and consulting rooms. Receiving and conveying messages in writing, electronically and verbally. Making appointments, collecting patient payments, providing receipt of money and undertaking any bank procedures. Ensuring the waiting and reception areas are kept neat and clean, and reporting on any damage.
Skills & Specifications:
Ability to communicate well and in a caring and supportive manner with individuals of all backgrounds. Excellent telephone etiquette and keyboarding skills. Ability to work efficiently and accurately. Should have computer knowledge. Knowledge of medical terminology. Organizational skills highly desired. Detail oriented. Ability to multitask. Receptive to new tasks. Professional. Contributes to team effort.
Education & Qualifications:
High school diploma or degree in medical field from an accredited institution. Experience in a physician office setting. Bilingual a plus.
