Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist and become the welcoming face of our compassionate animal care facility! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for clients and their beloved pets, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from check-in to check-out. Your energetic and friendly demeanor will help foster trusting relationships with pet owners while supporting the veterinary team with administrative excellence. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to animal health and well-being. Duties Greet clients and their pets warmly, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication about appointment procedures and clinic policies Manage appointment scheduling using veterinary software, coordinating with veterinary staff to optimize daily workflow Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle billing accurately in accordance with veterinary administrative protocols Maintain organized client records, update pet information, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive data Assist with front desk operations including answering phones, responding to client inquiries, and directing calls appropriately Support kennel operations by assisting with animal husbandry, animal restraint, and basic pet care when needed Facilitate client communication regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-visit care instructions Skills Proven experience in veterinary clinics or animal handling environments, including dog handling and animal restraint techniques Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine practices Familiarity with veterinary software systems and Microsoft Office tools for record keeping and communication Ability to perform laboratory tasks such as sample processing or basic diagnostic support when required Knowledge of drug enforcement regulations (DEA) and USDA regulations relevant to veterinary practice compliance Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners of diverse backgrounds Experience in animal husbandry, kennel management, or equine environments is a plus for supporting various species' needs Capable of handling animals safely during clinic visits or procedures using proper restraint techniques Understanding of aseptic techniques during clinical procedures to maintain a sterile environment Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices can be beneficial for assisting during emergencies or urgent cases Join us in making a difference in the lives of animals and their owners! Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
