Medical Front Desk Receptionist Job Description Impression Foot & Ankle is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and professional Front Desk Receptionist at our established podiatry clinic. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to be an integral part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional care and service to our patients. As the first point of contact, our receptionist helps create a welcoming and efficient environment. This position is based in our clinic. If you are detail-oriented, personable, and have a passion for healthcare, we encourage you to apply. Duties and Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner upon entrance. Manage patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring all necessary paperwork is filled out and processed accurately. Schedule appointments and maintain an organized appointment calendar. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and route calls to the appropriate party. Collect and process payments from patients for services rendered. Verify patient insurance eligibility and process insurance claims promptly. Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area. Handle sensitive information confidentially in compliance with healthcare regulations. Update patient records in the clinic's database with accuracy. Coordinate with medical staff to manage the daily patient flow. Provide administrative support to the medical staff as needed. Manage supply inventory and order office supplies when necessary. Communicate effectively with patients, providing them with necessary appointment details and instructions for preparation. Participate in training and education to improve knowledge and performance level. Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently with proper escalation to medical personnel. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; further education in medical administration or related field preferred. Proven experience in a front desk role, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting. Strong communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office and patient management software. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately. Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Experience in handling patient confidentiality issues according to HIPAA regulations. Medical field experience is a bonus but not strictly necessary.
