Job Description

Desert Sky Spine & Sports Medicine specializes in non-operative musculoskeletal medicine, including spine care, work injuries, and sports injuries. Our practice is dedicated to providing comprehensive patient care with a focus on minimally invasive procedures and effective treatment plans. We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative and clinical duties efficiently. This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with electronic health record systems, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Greet and check in patients in a professional and compassionate manner Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and referral requirements Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments according to provider availability and clinic protocols Manage daily appointment schedules and coordinate with clinical staff Manage reminder calls, no-show documentation, and cancellation follow-ups Address patient concerns respectfully and escalate issues when appropriate Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments Scan and upload identification, insurance cards, and patient documents into EMR Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records Assist with processing referrals and medical record requests Room patients as needed Vitals as needed High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 1-2 years of medical receptionist experience preferred Experience in pain management, orthopedics, or specialty practice strongly preferred Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems (e.g., ModMed or similar platforms) Knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
